Regan did an excellent job of moving around the field. She did well at getting to the left corner of the field when appropriate, and staying close to play in general.

On an attacking direct free kick just outside the penalty area, which was correctly called as a result of the defending goalkeeper handling the ball just over the 18 yard line, Regan showed the IFK signal by raising her arm straight up. A goal was scored from the kick going directly in the goal without touching another player. A discussion occur with her AR1 (D. Wilson) and the goal was allowed to stand.

Regan and I talk about this event afterwards, and I reminded her that any handball offense will result in a DFK (or PK) and never an IFK. Even when the FK is a result of the goalkeeper deliberately touching the ball outside the PA.

Regan did well communicating relevant information to members of both teams when the situation required it.

Regan did well signaling for corner kicks, goal kicks, and throw-ins.

Regan initially tended to immediately beckon on substitutes. At half-time I gave her advice on how to properly signal for substitutions -- i.e. by whistling with a double tap and pointing with her arm motionless to a location high above the intersection of the halfway line and touch line. She followed my advice and did it correctly in the 2nd half and throughout the next game.

Regan did well to catch her AR's offside signals.

Regan tended to whistle on routine goals scored. I suggested to her at half-time of the first game that in those situations all she needed to do was point to the center circle without a whistle. I explained that the whistle is only needed for less-obvious goal situations (e.g. where the ball goes quickly into and out of goal)

Regan wore the correct uniform for both games.

You did well in your two games for which I mentored. Your movement around the field looked professional. Your uniform and interaction with player looked the part. And I was please that you willingly received feedback, and made subsequent adjustments to correct a few minor mechanics and signaling issues as the games progressed.

My suggestion is for you to focus on recognizing unfair contact between opponents (foul recognition), and when the situation requires it, a quicker whistle to stop play. Part of the latter is a faster signal for the direction of the resulting FK. Doing this will help with your game control and give you confidence as you progress though a match as a referee.

Regan did great. Movement around the field, looking the part, and listening and correcting a few minor mechanics signaling issues, etc..

The biggest concern I have is her confidence in calling, and some instances, recognizing fouls. One was a long delayed whistle of an attacker's unfair charge (on the back) of an opponent after losing the ball. IMO, this should have been automatic, but instead she waited for her AR1's (David W.) signal for it. This was not an advantage situation, and one where it was in the zone of credibility for the Referee to call.
