Leah - you had a number of good runs to the corner to make your goal kick and corner kick signals. We talked about stepping back from the touchline so you can see it in your bottom vision. This will help you take a perpendicular view of the field to better judge offside.

Comment on offside signaling
As officials, the coaches, players, and spectators often try to influence us. This occurred in our match when the coach loudly yelled for an offside call immediately following a free kick when he had directed his team to set an offside trap and step forward at the moment of the kick. The flag was raised although no offside actually occurred in this instance. These situations can certainly be challenging when you're learning to officiate and someone is trying to influence you. Keep working games to gain confidence to make calls when you see them and also keep your flag down when correct. As you gain experience and confidence, you'll start to realize just how silly some of the influence you hear is.
