For the most part positioning was good. Wider and closer as play enters the penalty area. Remember, fouls that occur in the penalty area could be a penalty kick, which as a player you know is a big deal. The game needs you to be there.

Everything was good with your foul recognition. There weren’t very many for you to call. Decisions were quick and decisive.

You didn’t say much, but this game didn’t really need that from you. We did talk about a much louder whistle. Practice using your whistle off the field so you get more comfortable with it. Remember, your whistle is there to communicate with the entire venue, parents and coaches included. Ok to be loud.

Refereeing is a great way to experience the game, and as someone who plays at a competitive level, I know you can appreciate how important good officiating is. You have potential, and if you enjoy doing it, there will be opportunities to advance as far as you’re willing to work.

Overall decent job. Definitely has some things to clean up, but mostly just needs more experience. I don’t see any reason he can’t keep getting that experience in the center, but I don’t think he’s ready to do anything more than this level yet.
