Positioning was good overall... I did want to shift your position on the kickoff... you put yourself on attacking half (which is good), but on the wrong side of the center circle (back to lead AR). You did this both halves.

You are fast and fit, and you recover well... but you did have a lot of "reacting" to play, instead of "anticipating" play. Something to practice, as you won't be able to rely solely on your ability to recover as you start working higher level games with a much faster pace.

As we discussed, a "clinic worthy" clip late in the game, foul occured in front of benches. You waited to see if they were going to play through it and have a potential advantage. The advantage did not materialize, and you called the foul. All that was great. But what made that entire play so PERFECT, was both benches had almost no reaction to the foul, and they trusted you to do what you did. As you probably know, 9 times out of 10, one of the benches explodes immediately when they see the foul occur, particulary right there in front of the benches. But the work and effort you put in for the 65 minutes prior to that, kept them from exploding. They didn't need to, because they trusted you. That's not easy!

As soon as I get access to the game footage, I did want you to take a look at the tackle by Red #17. Didn't make clean contact on the opponent, but if he did, in my opinion would have had all the features of a RED CARD Serious Foul Play. Hopefully, we will get a good look at it.

Really good job with they way you talked players through contact, and explained things to them. Didn't need a lot of words, just quick statements, and on with things.

We had the one issue on the free kick that led to the goal. You had to deal with an injury at the same time, which created some confusion about the restart. It wasn't clear to either bench that you had called the foul before checking on the injury. It looked as though you stopped play in order to check on the injury, which would have been a dropped ball restart. The direct free kick was a surprise. Make sure your signals are clear and decisive in order to eliminate confusion... therefore reduce controversy. That whole sequence was magnified because the free kick resulted in the only goal of the match.

Your positioning was good, but it was because you were faster than the players... there will come a time where that won't be true anymore, and you will have to rely on your reading of the game and your anticipation of play. Read those hips and eyes... keep working on this, and one day you will know what they are doing before they do.
