You had good side stepping and some nice sprints. Work on following the ball to the goal line and make your corner kick or goal kick signal within about a yard of the corner flag. This will also help you be in the correct position to see if a ball goes in the goal and then quickly comes out.

There was an instance in the 18' of the 9:00 match when you raised the flag for offside and then lowered it before the referee's whistle. Work on showing confidence and keep the flag up until the referee acknowledges it or possession of the ball clearly changes. You correctly signaled an offside in the 10:15 match and your signaling was very good. Great job! We also discussed stepping back at least one yard from the touch line. This will help keep your line of vision square with the field and better see ball in and out of play in your peripheral vision.

Keep working on your eye contact with the referee before signaling. This will avoid making conflicting signals between the AR and the referee. We reviewed general signaling mechanics for throw-ins (arm straight at about 45 degrees without bending the wrist or elbow), substitutions, and a goal.

Very good and professional appearance - proper jersey, badge, black shorts, and long socks. Keep up the good work. We talked about keeping a book to back-up the referee.

Luke, we had three games together and you continued to improve throughout the day. You had a few interesting instances during these matches, including a penalty kick. We discussed AR positioning for a PK - AR stands at the intersection of the penalty area line and goal line. If this is during penalty kicks taken as a tiebreaker, the AR should move to the intersection of the goal area line and goal line. Remember to carry the flag in your left hand, unless you are returning up field (you had very good improvement on this after we talked about it). I mentored Luke during three games on 8/25/2024 - 9:00 AM (field 13s); 10:15 AM (field 13n); 11:30 AM (field 13s). This report summarized comments from all three of these games. Luke showed improvement throughout the day and was generally open to feedback.
