We talked about having more deliberate eye contact with ARs after goals are scored... you want to give the impression you are awarding the goal as a team, not just yourself. And who knows, maybe your AR has some information for you.

Comments for the Mentee
You have to take charge of situations, especially on free kicks. IFK you called late in the game, team took freekick twice before you were ready, and you had to call back them back. Third one was super confusing because of some strange signaling that contributed to the confusion. I am hoping to get a hold of the recording so we can go back and watch that sequence and break it down. This one situation made what was a pretty good game up till then, a potential blow up. On this particular game, things worked out OK... but on a more intense, higher level match (ECNL or RL game) that sequence would have blown up your game.

Very easy game (till the very end) which almost went to mercy rule... didn't give me much to evaluate. Bo didn't really have anything to do until he called an impeding IFK foul late in the game, and the management of the restart was a disaster. Team restarted without Bo's whistle twice, and twice he had to bring the ball back. The third time... how do I explain this?... the team took the restart by doing the toe tap of the ball (but clearly was kicked and moved), the coach started screaming that the ball didn't do a full rotation (how long has it been since that was in the laws???), and Bo made a signal that seemed to agree with the coach's assessement... it looked like Bo was trying to stop the play, but we couldn't hear any whistle. Looked as though Bo wanted to bring the ball back to do the restart for the fourth time, and the coach was going bonkers. After a few moments of indecision, Bo signaled goal kick. When I talked to Bo afterwards, he gave me a completely different version of how those events went down. I am not sure he fully understood what I was getting at... which is why I asked for the video footage, if it was available. I would love to go back and break down that entire sequence, because I think there would be a lot to learn from it.
As I told Bo in our debrief, those are the type of situations that can undo 85 minutes of great refereeing, and completely throw the game in the toilet. I told him he needed to be more decisive and take control of the game, and prevent teams from restarting without him.
