He really needs to work on his positioning. He didn't really run in a diagonal. In the first half, he ran mostly on the AR 1 side of the field up and down. His back was to AR 1 most of it because of his positioning. At half time I talked to him about his positioning. and to keep the lead AR in you sight. In the second half, he did better but still didn't run the full diagonal. He was more in the middle this time. He also needs to get closer to play. He would be on one half of the field when the ball was by the other goal.

His strongest attribute is his game knowledge. That saved him in most occasions. The problem was his mechanics.

He basically didn't signal anything the entire first half. There as a PK, no point to the spot. There was an offside, no hand up. He only occasionally signaled for a throw in. He blew the whistle for every ball out of play. I talked to him at half time and he had a much better half although still far from perfect. On one occasion, he signaled for a offside, (correct decision and signal) then handled substitutions, when when he blew the whistle to start, he forgot to signal the indirect free kick restart after the offside. Still blew whistle unnecessarily on occasion. One note on the PK, he needs to manage the PK better. He needs to talk to the keeper reminding him of what to do, talk to the kicker, telling him to wait for the whistle, and talk to the players about crossing the penalty area line.

Overall it was rough. He made all of the right calls but his mechanics were all over the place. Some good things were, his management of an injury as well as making the correct calls and talking to his team. What he needs to work on, signaling, blowing the whistle unnecessarily, positioning, getting closer to play, and managing the PK.
