Make sure to not get caught ball-watching too much. Use any dead ball situation (Free kicks, substitutions, goal kicks, corner kicks, etc.) to check yourself against the position of the second to last defender. Just remember to look back, so you are in position when the ball comes to your half of play.

Keep your flag held horizontally a little longer after the referee blows so that everyone around can see you are the one that made the offside call.

Remember to take some time to signal before you raise the flag so that the direction is correct. You did an excellent job at recognizing when the ball left play, even if it was a difficult decision and you saved your referee on one occasion. Good job! Remember no one worries if the call is slow, as long as the call is correct.

You were excellent! Very rarely have I seen a new referee with as much ability or interest as you and it shows. Just focus on a few things at a time and get comfortable with them before you worry about anything else. Remember the referee crew is in charge of the clock; no one else.

Kaleb was excellent for one of his first games. His knowledge of the game and understanding of what was going on on the field was fantastic. The only thing he was really lacking was confidence in his ability. He needs time and space to be able come into himself as a referee. Let him be an AR with experienced referees, but no mentors, for a little while to grow into himself and I have no doubt he will grow into a great referee.
