Anderson moves well across the field and has a solid understanding of where he needs to be. He uses the diagonal well, however, I'd like him to be a bit more flexible with it., but I would like him to concentrate more on getting deeper into the final third and to get wider to get a better perspective on play. This is not as important on the smaller fields but is vital for the bigger fields. We also talked about trying to bracket the ball between himself and the AR. I like how he sets up for restarts on free kicks, getting down to the potential of conflict rather than hovering near the ball.

For the level of play, I thought his foul bar was fine. I need not see any cringe-worthy misses or have to ask myself, "What was he calling on that one?"

Anderson had a discussion with players on both teams while checking them in about his expectations for them on the field. I'm not sure I would do that, but if it works for him, I'm fine with it. We talked about being more verbal on the field, nothing loud and obnoxious, but simple things to keep players out of trouble: "watch his back." etc.
