Malachi is able to move along the line to stay with second to last defender and moves to the endline to follow ball. But his body language/mechanics leave something to be desired. He twitches and drifts and fidgets and moves his body around awkwardly, giving the appearance of lacking focus. He could not/would not try sidestepping.

Malachi was in proper position to make offside calls and made them accurately. His mechanics are not quite as sharp as preferred.

In most respects as an AR, Malachi does fine. He knows where he's supposed to be and when. He's on top of offside correctly. he has some minor mechanics issues, but those can be overcome. But his apparent prior issues with a lack of focus were certainly noticeable. This was discussed repeatedly with him, but just not sure the concept sunk in properly. Malachi has all the tools to be a solid AR and he certainly appears to want to do well. But his presentation of himself is just difficult to reconcile. If that can be overcome, he can do well. If not, well just not sure what to say.
