Grant is a newer referee, however he has an excellent understanding of where to position himself (along with the second to last defender) so he can have the most optimal view of offside. Throughout the games I watched, he did this consistently!
I reminded Grant that the best place to stand on a corner kick is directly even with the endline so that he is able to determine if the ball is in or out of the goal. By the end of the day, Grant did this every time.

Grant understands when a player is in an offside position, and he understands how to correctly signal for an offside offense.
We reviewed that an attacking player does not need to touch the ball to be offside! If they gain an advantage by playing the ball, interfere with play, or obstruct an opponent (GK), this is also an offside offense.

He needs to work on his attentiveness and sharpness! Stand straight, eye contact with the center referee, and not losing focus! Especially, when the day goes on.

He is a great referee! Grant fully understands the game and he knows exactly what his job is. But sometimes, he loses focus and forgets the small things like carrying the flag in the correct hand, straight arms when signaling, eye contact, etc.
