Remember that, even though you are not in the middle, you are still in control and have authority over everyone on the field and particularly the benches area with the coaches and substitutes. Feel free to speak to the coaches and subs and let them know if they are encroaching on your space. They have their space, and you have yours. You have to be able to see all the way down the line and be able to run. Let them know this is your job and they are too close to the field.
