Ref Base – Point History

Player #33 had a hard foul on the top of the box by AR2, close to a SPA foul. He turned and tripped the player as he was trying to get by him, beyond him for a promising attack for a yellow. There were others in the center of the box so he wasn't last man. #33 helped the player up and understood the card. There were no issues with dissent at this point (1st half or at this foul. Later in the game, another teammate committed a foul and 33 came out arguing about the foul. The goalkeeper McKenna Smith, came out and pulled him back/got in his ear telling him to back off he already had a yellow. At that point, I warned him, enough. He continued I just said OK, OK. I ignored it. After the game, my AR2 approached me. Amarillo Rush won the game 4-3. #33 ran to the Guadalajara sidelines, sticking out his tongue, waving at them, and taunting before he ran over to the sidelines. After consultation, it was clearly a second yellow. I approached the sidelines (coach) and asked for #33. The coach refused to come off the bench. Staying. I was 20 yards away. The coach then waved me off. I yellow carded the coach. Player #33 came out and I showed him a second yellow first, then a red card for a second yellow. Following this, we stood for the player handshake line. Player #33 came through the line and stated "How much are did they pay you, brushing his fingers above his head as he ran by. His teammates walked him away from the line.

Player #15 felt he was fouled in the box. There was no foul and neither the linesman or myself (just 10 yards away) called the foul. Player #15 came towards me aggressively, this is fucking bullshit while walking towards me. I pulled out a yellow card. The player continued to argue. I stopped the game walked towards the bench, because the parents Amarillo parents were screaming obscenities, to speak to the coach. I motioned for the coach to come on the field, hoping to diffuse #15 for a second. The coach did not come onto the field or leave the bench. Instead, player #15 continued to scream at me and dissent "You fucking suck." At this point he hadn't been shown a red and I had hoped the coach would assist. The player instead continued to approach me. I showed a red card. The player continued with his tirade as he walked by me and off the field, "I don't give a shit. What are you going to do. The seasons over." At that point I told the coach I was trying to get his attention for that reason. As he continued to walk off and scream at me, I told coach he needed to control his player or he would need to leave the field. I walked back to start the game and that was the last I heard from him.

Their were no cards in the first half. It was a hard fought match, but no serious fouls needing a card.

I ignored much of the behavior from the sidelines during the game and focused on the unsporting behavior and dissent on the field from the Amarillo Rush players. After the game, when we were walking off the field and had addressed misbehavior in the huddle (directed towards center and AR) after the game, I observed Rush parents walked to the Athletico side and engage the Athletico parents agressively. The field marshals intervened.
